Almost There
We have one more weekend before our first guests arrive. I am happy to report our “to-do” list is very short. We could not be more happy with how the cottage has turned out. We hope you enjoy your time here at Lazy River Cottage, a little piece of paradise.
Rain Rain Go Away
We have had enormous amounts of rain this year. This brought beautiful spring flowers and made me look like I had a green thumb, but we’re ready for it to slow down some. It has rained the last 2 weekends and really limited our ability to work outside. Our “to do“ list has several outdoor items on it so we’re hoping for a rain free weekend so we can finish these up.
Floating Dock
Our floating dock is loaded and ready for install this morning! The rain chances are supposed to be very low today so we are hoping for the best. We could not be more excited that it is able to be completed before our first guest arrived.
My wonderful dad stayed in Mentone today to be there for the install since work and kids didn’t allow us to be there. Keep an eye out on our social media pages for pictures of the dock later today and lots more next weekend too.
Swing or Rock
Whether you prefer a to swing or rock, we have you covered. We did spend a little time enjoying them both this weekend while listening to the rain.
Exterior
With all the work moving in last weekend, we forgot to take pictures of the exterior. I managed to get a few this week between rain showers to share with you.
Kitchen
The perfect combination of function and style. The kitchen appliances are installed, the backsplash is finished, and the island has found it’s home. The kitchen is where you’ll find your welcome basket with the welcome book with everything you need to know about the property, food, and fun in the area as well as some starter items for your stay.
Laundry & Half Bath
The laundry closet is located in the half bath off of the kitchen. Laundry detergent for one load will be provided for your convenience.
Dining Room
The dining room is spacious and seats 8. The kitchen island provides seating for 2 as well. The side table in the Dining Room is home to a basket full of your favorite family card and board games for all ages as well as our guest book. We invite you to write a short message and sign our guest book during your stay.
Living Room
Hands down, this is our favorite room. We’re still waiting to hear from the furniture store on the sectional, but in the mean time we think it’s still pretty grand.
Downstairs King Bedroom & Bath
The downstairs king bathroom has a few updates this week. The mirrors are hung, the toilet paper holder & hand towel bar are installed, and the towel hooks are up. We love that we got to use the scrap rough cut cedar pieces in the bathrooms too. We also added a teak wood shower bench in the shower.
I can’t begin to describe the spaciousness of this bedroom. We got all of the move in clutter cleaned out and are able to share pictures of the entire bedroom this week.
Sleeping Loft
This room only had minor updates. We added these adorable bird pillows and they really complete the room.
Upstairs Queen Bedroom & Bath
The upstairs queen bedroom’s bedskirt arrived and it looks great. We put the finishing touches on the bathroom as well.
Upstairs King Bedroom & Bath
This room only had a few updates this weekend, mainly to the bathroom. This is the room our son has claimed and he wins best bedroom view, especially in the winter.
Aside from a few items inside and one more round of major cleaning, the inside is finished and ready for guests. Most of the items left on our list are wants, not needs. We tend to go above and beyond, and we hope you love and appreciate all of the extras we’ve added to make your stay that much better and hopefully your memories a little sweeter.
