DeSoto Falls Open

We are very excited to share that the DeSoto Falls State Falls Picnic Area and Overlook maintenance is complete and now open to the public!



New Beach Area

In addition to the dredging work that was done, there is an exciting new feature that was added - a beach! Who knew you could put your toes in the sand on your next visit to Lookout Mountain? Well, you can and it’s just steps away from Lazy River Cottage.


Look at that beautiful freshly dredged water! What an improvement.


Picnic Area Expansion

The state park system also added additional picnic tables and picnic areas. We love the new ones by the water!

We happened upon this best-kept secret in North Alabama in 2017 when looking for a place to spend quality time with family.  The serene beauty of Mentone, AL along with its close proximity to Chattanooga, Huntsville, Birmingham, and Atlanta drew us in. 

 

Our family has spent as much time as possible on Little River by Desoto Falls ever since.  It has become a place of refuge and rest for our family and we have been blessed to have the opportunity to make countless memories in this extraordinary area of the state.
