Views for the Entire Family
If you’re looking for a beautiful hike for all ages and strollers visit the Boardwalk in DeSoto State Park. An easy stroll down the boardwalk leads you to Azaela Cascade, a beautiful natural water feature.
If you’re looking for a great end to the day, consider stopping by Village Ice Cream Shoppe for hand dipped ice cream and a short drive to Brow Park to watch the sunset.
Waterfall Hikes
If you love waterfalls, there is no shortage of them nearby. The biggest and most spectacular is DeSoto Falls. This one can be viewed from DeSoto Falls State Park Picnic Area or two beautiful hikes, one to an over look and one to the bottom of the falls.
Another favorite waterfall hike is Indian Falls. Located in DeSoto State Park across from the Boatdwalk parking area you’ll find this beautiful falls and a beautiful view of Little River as well.
Lodge Falls is a great one to out when you visit the DeSoto Falls Lodge. Located behind the lodge, it is worth the short walk to see.
Little River
There is no shortage of ways to enjoy Little River during your stay at Lazy River Cottage. Kayak up Little River and enjoy the history and beauty of the old boat houses. Fishing Little River is fun for all ages and skill levels. From the basic worm and hook to the fly fisherman, Little River is great for them all.
A New Perspective
The views in the area are stunning from any angle, but to view the scenery from a new perspective, consider a horseback ride to the rim of DeSoto Falls with Shady Grove Dude Ranch or glide through the tree tops of DeSoto State Park with Screaming Eagle Zipline Canopy Tours.
Little River Canyon
A short drive from Lazy River Cottage is Little River Canyon National Preserve. Here you’ll find Little River Falls and beautiful canyon views.
